Help! Burnt out catalytic

I got my '00 Si with JRSC running again. Turned out the ECU went out on me. It's still a mystery of why it went out. I since relocated power sources for anything electrical away from the ECU. I suspect the A/F meter power connected to the IGP1 source of the ECU could have caused the problem. But the thing that gets me is Apex'i and Fields fuel controllers install manuals says to tap into this same power wire. What ever it was, it seems to be okay now.

But now i have another problem. I get a check engine light code 67 which is catalyst efficiency (bad cat). I thought it might be caused by the A/F meter again. The meter was still giving me readings so the o2 sensor must be okay. I disconnected the A/F meter and reset the ECU. The code comes back eventually. I reset a few times and same results. I then pull my cat to check it out. What i see is the first one-third of the cat is hollow, meaning no honeycomb shapes, but clumps on the surrounding area. But the rest of the way back has the honeycomb. What i was told is the cat should have honeycomb from the beginning to end? So some how the cat burnt out.

Now i'm wondering how did it burn out? Did it happen when my ECU crapped out and when i kept on cranking flooding the cat? Since it didn't fire up the fuel should have just evaporated or does the raw fuel automatically ruin the cat? Another thing is the JR FPR came set at 75psi with no vacuum. What i hear is that is way high. Normal settings should be 50 w/ vac and 60 w/o vac. Could that short of time running 75psi have ruined it? The A/F meter only showed full rich when i was at WOT. So, i'm at a lost of how the cat went out and if it will happen again.

If you can answer any of the above questions, that will be great. Also can anyone recommend a supplier for a high-flow cat for a good price?
